Convening A Tournament

The Executive are responsible for organizing Tournaments with the cooperation of the Team Captains.

Executive Convenor Responsibilities

  1. The Tournaments Will Be Convened as Follows:

Early In The New Year

  1. Prepare a calendar of dates for Tournaments with approximately one Tournament every 2 weeks for a total of 12 in the year.
  2. Negotiate contracts and dates with golf courses that give us the best rates.
  3. Confirm the RULES of golf for Strathcona Park Golf Club.
  4. Review the Strathcona Park Golf Club website and update as necessary.

Prior To A Tournament Event

  1. Confirm Team numbers from Captains and advise golf course.
  2. Confirm who is playing on each Team and advise all Teams who will be playing and when they will be teeing off.
  3. Collect payment from Team Captains (or players) for Golf and Deuce Pool.
  4. Pay the golf course and hope that all the players show up.

At The End Of The Tournament

  1. Collect the Scorecards from each Team.

A Few Days After The Tournament

Determine Prize winners and award Prizes as listed below:

At The End Of The Season

  1. Determine the Annual Award Winners.
  2. Prepare Annual Award Trophies for up to 5 potential winners.
  3. Arrange for the location, menu, date and time of the Annual Awards Banquet and Year End Celebration.

Team Captain Responsibilities

Before the Tournament (10 days preferable to meet Golf Courses requirements)

  1. Confirm your team is playing and who will be playing on your team.
  2. Ensure your Team pays the Club Treasurer for Golf.
  3. Ensure that those who want to be in the Deuce Pool add $2 to their payment.

During the Tournament

  1. Fill out the Team Scorecard.
  2. Ensure to include all measured K.P.'s as well as any Deuces.

At The End Of The Tournament

  1. Turn Scorecards into the Secretary.
  2. Enjoy time with your Team and friends.
